As a student at South Dakota State University, I was excited to receive the Fall 2023 calendar. It’s always helpful to know important dates such as when classes start and end, when holidays are, and when exams are scheduled. The Fall 2023 calendar did not disappoint, as it included all of these important dates and more.
Fall 2023 Semester Dates
The Fall 2023 semester at South Dakota State University will begin on August 28, 2023, and end on December 15, 2023. There will be a one-week break for Thanksgiving from November 20-24, 2023. Final exams will be held from December 16-22, 2023.

In addition to the start and end dates of the semester, the Fall 2023 calendar includes many other important dates. For example, there will be a Labor Day holiday on September 4, 2023, and a Veterans Day holiday on November 10, 2023. The calendar also includes dates for academic advising, registration, and add/drop deadlines.

South Dakota State University is located in Brookings, South Dakota, which is a great location for experiencing many different world events and festivals. One of the biggest events in the area is the South Dakota State Fair, which will be held from August 31-September 4, 2023. This event features a carnival, livestock shows, and concerts. Another popular event is the Sioux Empire Fair, which will be held from August 3-12, 2023, in nearby Sioux Falls. This event also features a carnival, livestock shows, and concerts, as well as a variety of food vendors and other attractions.
